EU Officials Condemn US Move as ‘Intimidation’

European leaders including the French president charged Washington of “bullying and threats”, after the travel bans targeted individuals that were central to campaigns to enact legislation governing US-based technology firms.

“For far too long, European activists have led organised efforts to coerce American platforms to suppress US perspectives they oppose,” wrote a senior US official in a social media post. “This government will no longer tolerate such actions of extraterritorial censorship.”
